Rose Wonder for the Win!

Hello! I'm currently writing this post during an ice storm here in Ontario. Apparently the worst is yet to come, so hopefully we still have power by the time you're reading this. ;) It's messy out there, so it's a good excuse to stay in my comfies and create!

This month we're chatting retiring products. I focused on the Rose Wonder stamp set & coordinating dies. It's a set I didn't use nearly enough, but it's fabulous! I love sets that have both images & sentiments and if you follow me on Instagram, you'll notice I've been doing a lot with it lately!

It's a fairly simple card, really, but has a few layers to it. I love how the layers are poking through the vellum flower. I heat embossed the outline by stamping in black ink and then quickly dumping Clear Embossing Powder over top and heating. DID YOU KNOW: You can get just about any colour of embossing with coloured ink and clear powder?! BUT... I'm happy to announce that Stampin' Up! is bringing back Black Embossing Powder in the 2018/2019 Annual Catalogue... going live on June 1st!

After heat embossing, I cut the floral image out and then coloured with my Blends. If you're bummed about them not being orderable right now, don't fret. They will return late May or early June and there are also plenty more being released in the new Annual. I'm over-the-moon excited about that!!

To add some extra pizzazz to the card, I added hints of gold with a metallic doily and the specialty paper from the Eastern Palace pack. I always tend to hoard paper, but since this awesome stuff is retiring also, I didn't hold back when adding two layers to my card front. I really love the way that looks.

To finish things off, you can't forget the inside! I did a little bit of stamping and added a 3/4" strip of paper over top to bring in that gold again. There's still plenty of room for writing, but if you didn't want as much space, fill up more of it with stamping. ;)

Wedding Accessories

Today is a very quick post - just wanted to show you a couple of coordinating items I made to go along with the card I showed you yesterday. I love Stampin' Up! for that very fact. Everything coordinates so beautifully!

The letters I cut are from a retired die (still shown below), but there are many great stamp sets that could work also.

Until next time, stay crafty!

Happily Ever After

Hello! This was a card I designed back in October, but never got around to posting. Some of the products I used are retired, but could easily be substituted. Check it out:

If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen the video I posted when I heat embossed this card. I looooove heat embossing. So much fun and a big wow!

I kept the colour pallet neutral and embossed everything. The gold brads are not SU!, but did you know that you could heat emboss those too?!

To add some more detail, I punched all the corners with the Curvy Corner Trio Punch - love that thing! - and of course, added some more heat embossing to the inside too.

Come back tomorrow to see the other items I created to coordinate with this card (for a wedding).

Until next time, stay crafty!

Just Married Punch Art

Over the weekend I was looking for some inspiration and I turned to my sketchbook. In it, I found a quick sketch I did of something similar below, likely, the idea originated from a card I received (or saw in a store). I thought it was perfect for some punch art!

The punch art was simple:

Circle Punches - 1/2", 1" and 2-1/2"
3/4" Square Punch
Bow Builder Punch
Balloon Framelits (the tiny bow)

Once I had all the pieces glued, I added a tiny jewel to the bow for a little bling. The sentiment was easily done with the Alphabet Rotary Stamp. I love that the rotary includes a little heart! I really wanted to just glue my little punch art car on the card base, but wasn't quite satisfied with it. Adding the Silver Metallic Thread gave it that extra umph.

On the inside, I added a few punched flowers with some more bling in the centre.

Until next time, stay crafty!

Lost and Found!!

Happy "hump day"! Don't you just love when you find some money in a purse or jacket that you haven't used in a while?! Well, a couple of weeks ago, I found a box of items that I had prepped to either use on cards, or, I had card fronts ready to assemble. I did a little happy dance when I found this box because everything was done for me, I just had to use it to design a card. :)

In the box, I found a bunch of Whisper White card fronts that had "congratulations" embossed in silver and then a bunch of sheets with flowers that were already heat embossed in a mix of gold and silver embossing powder. After a bit of thinking, this card came together pretty fast. I punched out all the flowers with the Pansy Punch & coordinating stamp set and then popped them up on the card front after wrapping it with some Gold Metallic Thread.

I added another flower and some more thread to the inside and my card was complete. Super simple, but thankful that I found this box of stuff!

Here's a better look at the dimension and shimmer this card has (though, I'm sorry the lighting was a bit dim!).

Hope you enjoyed this bit of inspiration.

Until next time, stay crafty!
