Saying Goodbye to Lovely As A Tree!

It's been a while... but I'm back with the Stamping Symphony Blog Hop today! We're saying farewell to some of the retiring items. I'm sharing a card I featured in one of my Weekly on Wednesdays Facebook live video a couple of weeks ago. Check it out:

So many fun elements and layers to this card - a stamped background, some Designer Series Paper, faux stitching, ribbon & twine and hints of gold everywhere.

You can probably get a better peek at what I'm talking about in the picture above. Isn't it fun?! I used some Shimmer Paint and a Dauber to added the gold right to my stamps! For the little leaves, I daubed the gold to the stamp and stamped. For the tree, I first stamped in Tranquil Tide Ink (retiring June 3, 2019!) and then added hints of gold to the stamp before stamping. Just know that your dauber will also pick up the ink from the stamp.

Of course I can never forget the inside of the card! I added the same elements as the front. It adds a nice touch, I think!

I couldn't link directly to the video a couple of weeks ago on my Facebook Page, but I've now also uploaded it to my YouTube Channel, so you can find it there... along with all my other videos! ;)

Thanks for hopping by and don't forget to pop by my other Stamping Symphony friends to see what they're biding farewell to. If you'd like to recreate this card, I've included all the materials below and you can simply click the links to my Stampin' Up! storefront (but only if you don't already have a Canadian Demonstrator). If you'd like to buy this card, you can now find it in my ONLINE SHOP! So excited to be back selling online again.

Promotion Commotion with Stamping Symphony

Hello! It's the 15th of the month, so that means another Blog Hop with some of my Stamping Symphony friends. Today we're celebrating the "Sale-A-Bration Coordination" items (available until March 31st, 2019, or while supplies last). As if Sale-A-Bration wasn't exciting enough, this promotion has added extra commotion... and what a commotion this promotion has been! Many items have already sold out, but I'm here to showcase some of the awesome products still available! ;)

I focused my project around this BEAUTIFUL, hand-painted paper. One side has bold images focusing on the four seasons and the other side has a repeated pattern. As you can see from the picture above, the two work perfectly together!

The detail on the stamps from the Painted Seasons Stamp Set (the leaf image above) gives such realistic impressions with just one colour of ink. This is a Stampin' Up! exclusive technology called Distinktive. It's amazing! On the card above, I used the freebie wooden elements from Sale-A-Bration, but since those are no longer available (they were super popular!), I just thought I'd mention that you could get a similar look with the Frames Elements, you can find the link below.

To create the sentiment element, I used the More Than Words Stamp Set and the Story Label Punch. I added a few tiny leaves from the Painted Seasons Stamp Set for added interest.

Now you know I can't leave the inside untouched. I added similar elements as the front, with the addition of some additional words from the More Than Words Stamp Set.

Pop by again tomorrow to see some additional projects with this suite of products. If you're loving the paper, it can be yours for free with a $60 order. BUT, if you step up your order to $120, you can get the paper AND stamp set for FREE. Don't forget that the coordinating dies & additional products I used are only available until the end of the month, or until supplies last.

You can find a list of all the products I used below. If you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator &/or you have a question or two, don't be afraid to reach out HERE.

Now, don't forget to hop along to all the other awesome people below. ;)

Humming Along with Stamping Symphony

It's the 15th and that means another Blog Hop with some of my favourite ladies. Today I'm featuring a simpler card, but with lots of colouring & a couple of techniques.

Have you discovered our AWESOME Blends yet? Blends are a alcohol blending marker and they are extremely easy to use. You can use them to colour just about anything - embellishments, papers, fabrics, Window Sheets, vellum & more!

This stamp set offers big, bold images. However, there is just one flower. To give the flowers depth, I used the "Masking Technique" to layer the images just right (see video below). Here are a few basic steps to "masking":

  • Stamp the image you want masked on a piece of lightweight paper (i.e. copy paper)... sticky notes work great, but I didn't have one large enough for this image.
  • Cut it out with scissors - "fussy cut". This is your "mask".
  • Stamp your image on your project and then before stamping the next one, lay your "mask" overtop and stamp again. Continue doing so until you get the look you want.

You know I love adding something to the inside of the card too. The large, bold flower was the right choice and allowed me to add colour with my Blends.

Let's talk about that humming bird. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the image three times with StazOn Ink. Using the tool allowed for perfect placement so that I could get a bolder image. Next, I flipped it over and coloured with some Blends. Once finished, I adhered the image to some Glimmer Paper with Glue Dots, tucking those in behind the thicker lines. While there are dies for the stamp set (see below), I opted to fussy-cut the image with my Paper Snips, I thought that would look much better.

Before gluing the layer to my card base, I wrapped some Organdy Ribbon around for interest. Unfortunately this is not longer available as a freebie during Sale-A-Bration, but did you catch up top that I said you can colour fabric with Blends?! Grab your favourite ribbon & give it a try. ;)

Before I go...

Did you know I have a group on Facebook called Hofkissed VIP's? I post challenges, promotions & more. A couple of weeks ago, I shot a video on the "Masking Technique". If the description above didn't help you much, check it out. ;)

Today is also the day for the second-release of Sale-A-Bration items! You can still order from the first batch of freebies, but now there are a few more. Check them out here: Second Release PDF
