We've Got Colour @ Sunday Stamps!

Boy did this colour combo challenge me this week! Black, Fuchsia & Red. Not a combo I would normally do. I got the chance to see some of the other DT member creations as they were posting them and all I wanted to do was CASE those. ha. Didn't think that was allowed... but the other team members ROCKED this combo! Here's what I eventually came up with:

Paper: Real Red, Basic Black, WW, Brights DSP Stack (retired)
Ink: Real Red
Stamps: Petite Pairs
Tools: Big Shot, Windows Framelits, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Cloudy Day TIEF
Accessories: Baker's Twine, Jewels
I don't know why this colour combo was so difficult for me. Someone probably put it in my head years ago that red & pink clashed... and my hands just didn't want to put the two colours together. :) Anyway, I finally figured something out and I think it works!

I hope this colour combo inspires you and don't forget to check out the rest of the Design Team over at Sunday Stamps because like I said, they rocked this one!

Until next time, stay crafty!

Moving Day

Today is moving day for me, but I still wanted to share a quick post, especially since I've been neglecting this blog lately... and probably will be for a tad longer until I get settled. I sure hope you can understand!

Naturally a quick text or email doesn't cut it for this crafter when it comes to letting people know she moved. :) My Digital Studio (MDS) is a fantastic tool for something like this... and many other somethings too. It all came together really easily once I had the idea in my head and then all I had to do was print and assemble.

I did still want to include a little something, even though I was happy with my flat, non-embellished card. When I saw the little wooden houses on clearance at a store, I cleared them out and added them to my cards.

Until next time, stay crafty!

M is for Merry

I created this card so long ago that I don't even remember now where these scraps are from, but this card was created based on scraps! Check it out:

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, WW, Gumball Green
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: Occasions Alphabet
Tools: Big Shot, Elegant Lines TIEF
, Labels Framelits, Merry Minis Punch Pack
Accessories: Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon
This card came together really easily since everything was in my scrap pile, there wasn't a lot I had to do. The only thing really was to punch the trees in the label and then I put the punched trees inside my card. Can't forget about the inside!

Until next time, stay crafty!

Stamp Cases Revamped

When SU! changed their wood-mount stamp cases with the release of their new catalogue this year, I was not only extremely excited, but also started to think of ways to use the old ones. When the ideas started flowing, I wanted more! Thanks to my lovely and generous sideline, Laura Bart, I got 100's. Here's one way I used them:

Last night we went to visit friends in their new home. I wanted to bring them a little something (naturally, cards) and wanted to package them up nicely and quickly. What did I use? Old stamp cases of course! A little Sticky Strip, some lovely Stitched Satin Ribbon in Midnight Muse and this box fit four of my note card packs and a card... that I didn't need an envelope for because of the clear case. :)

Until next time, stay crafty!

Single Stamps!

Single Stamps are back... probably by popular demand! It's so great to pick and choose what images you want and these are all brand new for the Christmas season!

There are eight new stamps to choose from, six of which coordinate with existing Framelits or punches! Can't wait to get some of these myself, they're gorgeous!

Until next time, stay crafty!

No Peeking for Sunday Stamps

It's a sketch challenge today at Sunday Stamps! I've been so excited for this one... check it out:

Paper: Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Stamps: No Peeking
Tools: Artisan Label, 1-3/8" Circle Punch
Accessories: Washi Tape, Jewels
I created this card a while ago and am just noticing now how dark my picture is. Sorry about that! Anyway, Joan created such a great sketch for this week's challenge - it's so versatile! I know I'm using a retired set, but I just couldn't resist bringing out these adorable guys again this year.

Paired with some Washi Tape and a few jewels, this card took less than 10 minutes! Of course, I didn't forget the inside either:

I hope you'll play along with us - the challenge is open for two weeks. Be sure to check out what the rest of the Design Team has created to get you inspired and we look forward to seeing what you create!

Ripped Paper

How fun is this card?!

Paper: Brights DSP Stacks - Old Olive & Real Red used (retired), Naturals Ivory
Ink: Old Olive
Stamps: Wacky Wishes (retired)
Accessories: Jewels
I was working on another card when I had the idea for this one. So simple, eh?! I thought it would look like ripped wrapping paper. Once I had them all glued, I curled up the ends a bit. I used the same idea on the inside of my card too. Love this one!

Until next time, stay crafty!

Button Ornaments #2

I somewhat CASEd the idea from a card I created last year (found here). Really, the only thing that is the same is the use of buttons.

Paper: Smoky Slate, Basic Grey, Whisper White
Ink: Gumball Green, Old Olive, Basic Grey
Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes, Watercolour Winter (Retired)
Accessories: Glimmer Brads, Silver/Gold Flowers (non SU!), Buttons (various), Baker's Twine
OK, I really went over the top with this one, I know. But those flowers have been sitting on my shelf for years and I thought I should finally do something with them! Although it's over the top, I do like how it turned out. Certainly lots of different textures on this card...

What do you think?

Until next time, stay crafty!

Silver Bow

This card was inspired by one found on Pinterest. I would love to give proper credit, but the name was hard to read and the picture wasn't linked... may be Debby Hughes? Anyway, here is my card:

Paper: Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Glimmer Paper
Ink: Versamark (for heat embossing)
Stamps: Greetings of the Season
Tools: Big Shot, Stylish Stripes TIEF, Heat Tool
Techniques: Heat Embossing
Isn't this fun?! So simple too! The bow is made from two punched ovals, a banner & a button. Pretty eye-catching if you ask me. At first I just embossed my white with the Stylish Stripes TIEF, but felt it was too bland, so I added some cut strips of the red Glimmer Paper.

Until next time, stay crafty!

Gold Elegance

I'll give you a break from the Christmas cards for today. Here is an elegant gold embossed card, inspired from the SU! Convention:

Paper: Modern Medley DSP, Very Vanilla
Ink: Black StazOn, Versamark
Stamps: Happy Day
Tools: Big Shot, Fun Flowers Bigz Die, Perfect Polk Dots TIEF, Heat Tool
Accessories: Very Vanilla Button
Techniques: Heat Embossing

I randomly stamped and heat embossed directly on the DSP with gold and did the same on the Very Vanilla pieces for my flower. I embossed the middle flower to break up all the gold embossing and instead of using the two smallest pieces from the die, I used a button that is also heat embossed in gold. Did you know you could do that?!

Until next time, stay crafty!
